Mumbai: Senior BJP chief Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday welcomed the Supreme Court’s choice to uphold the switch of Patna Police’s FIR in actor Sushant Singh Rajput‘s dying case to the CBI, and stated the Maharashtra authorities must introspect on the way in which it dealt with the case.

Rajput, 34, was discovered hanging at his house in suburban Bandra on June 14 following which the Mumbai Police recorded statements of 56 individuals, together with Rajput’s sisters, actress Rhea Chakraborty and another movie personalities.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the switch of an FIR, lodged at Patna in opposition to Rhea Chakraborty and others for allegedly abetting Rajput’s suicide, to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The apex courtroom stated the Bihar authorities is competent to switch the case to the CBI for investigation.

Reacting to the decision, Fadnavis, who’s chief of opposition within the Maharashtra Assembly, stated they now anticipate justice within the case.

However, Shiv Sena chief Sanjay Raut instructed reporters that Maharashtra has at all times been on the forefront of preventing for fact and justice.

Asked if the decision was a setback to the Shiv Sena- led Maharashtra authorities, Raut stated, “Such things do happen in legal battles.”

On whether or not the state authorities will problem the decision, Raut stated it can reply after getting the copy of the judgement.

On allegations in opposition to Shiv sena chief and state minister Aaditya Thackeray within the case, Raut stated,” There are no allegations.”

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh stated he’ll remark solely after finding out the apex courtroom’s order.

“The Supreme Courts verdict has come. We will examine the order after receiving copy of the order. Only then I’ll touch upon the difficulty, he instructed reporters right here.

Senior BJP chief and former state minister Ashish Shelar alleged that the Mumbai Police gave the impression to be “pressurised by someone” within the Maha Vikash Aghadi authorities.
