NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch on Sunday the physical distribution of property cards under the SVAMITVA scheme, which is able to allow some 100,000 property holders to obtain their ‘property cards’ via the SMS hyperlink despatched on their cell phones.

Following the launch by way of video hyperlink, the state governments will take up the physical distribution of the cards.

“The move will pave the way for using the property as a financial asset by villagers for taking loans and other financial benefits,” the federal government mentioned in a press release. “This is the first time ever that such a large-scale exercise involving the most modern means of technology is being carried out to benefit millions of rural property owners.”

The beneficiaries of this scheme are in 763 villages throughout six states, together with 346 in Uttar Pradesh, 221 in Haryana, 100 in Maharashtra, 44 in Madhya Pradesh, 50 in Uttarakhand, and two in Karnataka.

“Beneficiaries from all these states, except Maharashtra, will receive the physical copies of the Property Cards within a day. Maharashtra has a system of recovering the nominal cost of Property Card, so it will take a month’s time,” the assertion mentioned.

Modi may also be interacting with some of these beneficiaries throughout the occasion.

The scheme goals to present the ‘record of rights’ to village household owners in rural areas and concern property cards and can ultimately cowl round 662,000 villages of the nation.
