About 1,000 folks marched via the streets of San Francisco Sunday, carrying indicators and chanting “George Floyd,” and “Black lives matter.”
“We’re here because George Floyd was murdered in cold blood,” Aliasiah Allah mentioned.
San Francisco police reported 80 arrests Sunday for violating the dusk-to-dawn curfew and looting within the Market Street, SOMA and Union Square areas Sunday night time after demonstrations over the police killing of George Floyd unfolded throughout town. On Saturday Union Square noticed folks stealing leather-based baggage from the Coach retailer and footwear from the Salvatore Ferragamo location, The Mercury News reported. Streets have been suffering from bras from Victoria’s Secret and cushioned jewellery bins from Swarovski. Police fired tear fuel to disperse protesters. San Francisco Mayor London Breed mentioned town’s eight p.m. curfew can be prolonged indefinitely.
Breed expressed disappointment concerning the destruction and mentioned she was not going to tolerate the violence.
“I was extremely upset because unfortunately with some of the vandals, they thought this was a game, they thought this was funny,” Breed mentioned.
